STIPE - A celebration of R.E.M
R.E.M
R.E.M. was a pioneering American rock band formed in 1980 in Athens, Georgia, featuring Michael Stipe (vocals), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (bass, keyboards, vocals), and Bill Berry (drums). They are considered one of the first alternative rock bands to achieve mainstream success. Known for Stipe’s distinctive voice, enigmatic lyrics, and jangly guitar riffs, R.E.M. released iconic albums like Murmur (1983), Out of Time (1991), and Automatic for the People (1992). Their hits include "Losing My Religion," "Everybody Hurts," and "Man on the Moon." The band disbanded amicably in 2011, leaving a profound legacy in rock and alternative music.
